§
Practices
are being held once a week, on Sundays, from 6pm to 8pm, commencing on
November 18th, 2001 at the Hungarian-Canadian Cultural Center
in the ‘Mozi terem’.
§ The
45th Helicon Ball is being held at the Toronto Hilton
Hotel, on Saturday, February 9th, 2002.
§ The
price of the tickets for Palotás Dancers, will be announced at the rehearsals,
please see Tom
Gauder for more
information.
v It
is imperative that the group rehearse together as much as
possible. For this
reason, it is recommended that you do not miss more than 2 practices.
If you are going to miss a practice, please contact
Tom
Gauder or Erica
Lovrics.
§
For
each rehearsal, dancers are required to have proper shoes (as similar
to the ones you will be wearing on the day of the ball as possible)
and girls are required to have long full skirts, or their “alsó’s”.
§ All
dancers are responsible for their own costumes.
If you do not have one, please read the attached information to
assist you in designing your own.
The Palotás dance group, and/or the Helicon Society will not
undertake responsibility to provide one for you, or for any costumes
that are borrowed. However, we will be happy to help if you have any
questions.
Lady's
costume: “Diszmagyar”
dress, “alsó-szoknya”, “párta”, white elbow-length gloves,
white panty hose, with no pattern, white satin, or leather, closed-toe
pump shoes.
Gentleman's
costume: Black dress
pants, preferably tuxedo pants, white button dress shirt,
“Bocskai” jacket, “Bocskai” tie, white wrist-length gloves,
black dress socks, black lace dress shoes, with leather soles.
